HANGARS & TIEDOWNS
Flabob has built a dozen new hangars since the Wathen Foundation took over in 2000. In cooperation with Legacy Aviation Development, an experienced hangar developer, we have filed for permits to construct "Flabob Hangar Village," a vintage-themed hangar development, to be built in phases, with up to 84 hangars total in the final buildout. Riverside County granted entitlements on June 15, 2009. However, the deep recession, as we sure you are painfully aware, has hit aviation hard. Legacy has therefore, with our agreement, suspended the project until there is some clarity in the economic situation.
Flabob Hangar Village, when it is built, will be similar in concept to Legacy Aviation Development's "Pioneer Airport" hangar development at Chino, pictured below. The Flabob Hangar Village hangars will be smaller, suitable for the smaller aircraft which use Flabob.
We hope that the first of these new hangars will be available in a year or two, but it depends on the economy. Until then, Flabob's hangars are usually fully rented. However, vacancies do occur, and are filled from those who are on the waitlist. To get on the waitlist, please visit the Flabob Airport office and ask Leo or Grisel for a hangar waitlist form.
We have plenty of available tiedowns, priced at $35 per month. Existing hangar and tiedown tenants are given priority for hangars.
